Moose Creek ConneXion, Inc.
Helping people connect to God and each other
What is it?
It's the ministry arm of Moose Creek Baptist Church.
It is designed to minister to
community members at their point of need.
The organization has many arms,
all with the conneXion theme.
For instance, there's
Kid's ConneXion, a child
development ministry geared toward
preschoolers helping them develop a
biblical worldview.
Each of the conneXion ministries are
at their development point right now.
Our hope is to have these up and running soon
with many other conneXion points to come!
Why is conneXion spelled wrong?
Right in the name of the ministry our focus can be found. Moose Creek ConneXion. The word connection is the operative word - we are helping people connect with God and each other. But it is intentionally misspelled with a capital "X" in place of the "ct". The capital X is the symbol for the Greek letter 'chi' (pronounced 'key'). It is the first letter in the title "Christ". You're most familiar with it when you see the term Merry Xmas. This is a legitimate abbreviation for Merry Christmas. The "X" in conneXion represents Christ. The extension of one of those legs of the "X" in conneXion aids in making the "X" look like a cross - a potent reminder of price God paid in order that we might connect with Him (God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" 2 Cor 5:21)
Why is it Needed?
There are so many people in our community who have been "missed" by the church. Some have been missed because they no longer attend Sunday morning services and are therefore "missed" by the church. Some have driven right by the church - and "missed" it - that is, they never saw it. Then there are those the church attempted to reach, but "missed". The traditional Sunday and Wednesday services is "missing" the mark in reaching our community. Its not to suggest we rid ourselves of tradition, however, it is time to begin pursuing a different means of reaching people for Christ. We acknowledge that everyone needs to know Jesus or know him better--that is MCBC's motto. While generations past (and some present) have reached through traditional church, the overwhelming majority of our community has been missed.
